Everyone working within
the NHS has a legal duty to maintain the
highest level of confidentiality.
Generally your records will only be seen
by health professionals involved in
providing or administering your care.
Consent
When giving consent for your notes to be
viewed or copied to an external body
such as a solicitor, the practice will
only release notes when written consent
is given by the patient. This consent
may be limited by timescale / period of
treatment should the patient request
this.
Data Protection Act 1998
You are
entitled to access your clinical records
held by the practice. This should be
done in writing stating exactly what
information you require. A charge may
apply for this request of between £10 -
£50 maximum.
